Bars | Low alloy quench and tempering steel | ~SS 1550 / 1572 | 1035 | 1.0501 / 1.1181 |
C35/C35E is an unalloyed, hardenable carbon steel with good machinability.
C35/C35E has a medium carbon content, typically containing about 0.32 to 0.40% carbon by weight. The steel exhibits moderate strength. Its tensile strength generally falls in the range of 480 to 630 megapascals (MPa), depending on factors such as heat, alloying elements and dimension.
While the main alloying element in C35/C35E is carbon, it may contain small amounts of other elements such as manganese and silicon to improve specific properties.
Due to the carbon content, C35/C35E steel has a limited weldability. It is recommended that the material is preheated before welding.
Used for applications that require moderate strength and toughness. i.a. for vehicle components, axles and bolts and screws.
