Alloy 400 can be used in contact with fluoride, hydrofluoric acid and hydrogen fluoride. Used as standard material in salt plants. Good mechanical properties at temperatures below -0°C up to approx. 550°C. Typical applications are propellers and pump shafts in seawater environments, heat exchangers, sulfuric acid, etc.
