58CrV4

SS 2230 1.8161

58CrV4 has a slightly higher carbon content than 51CrV4. It is a low alloy steel for use in the quenched and tempered condition with a tensile strength of 1100 - 1400 N/mm². 58CrV4 can also be induction or nitrided. Used for parts where medium hardness, strength and toughness are required. Typical applications are shafts, connecting rods, gears, piston rods. Can be hardened harder than Ck75. Working temperature from -40 to 225 °C. Often used for automotive components.
