Steel S460NL is a high-strength, normalised, fine-grained structural steel belonging to the S460 steel family. "S" stands for structural steel, "460" indicates the minimum yield strength in megapascals (MPa), however this depends on the dimension or thickness and can vary. +N" means that the steel has been normalised and "L" that the steel has been impact tested at -50°C. S460NL is mainly used in engineering and construction applications due to its combination of strength, toughness, weldability, bendability and cutability, especially in demanding structural and engineering contexts.
