34CrMo4

4130~ 1.7220

34CrMo4 is an alloy steel known for its high strength, toughness and versatility.

34: Indicates the approximate carbon content, usually around 0.34 %. Carbon content affects hardness and strength. Cr (chromium): Improves hardenability, wear resistance and corrosion resistance. Mo (molybdenum): Improves strength, toughness and hardenability.
The steel may contain small amounts of other elements to fine-tune specific properties.

The alloying elements, particularly chromium and molybdenum, contribute to its high tensile and yield strength, making it suitable for applications requiring structural integrity under heavy loads. Molybdenum improves toughness, allowing it to withstand impact and shock loads without breakage. Chromium and molybdenum improve its resistance to wear and abrasion, extending the life of components made from this steel.
34CrMo4 can be heat treated to achieve different levels of hardness and mechanical properties, allowing for customisation based on specific application requirements.

Alloy steel for heavy structural parts where high ductility and abrasion resistance is required. Often used for shafts, turbine components, chains etc. with working temperatures up to about 500°C.
