C35/C35E is a non-alloyed, hardenable carbon steel with good machinability.This steel grade has a medium carbon content, typically containing around 0.32 to 0.40 per cent carbon by weight. While the main alloying element in C35/C35E is carbon, it may contain small amounts of other elements such as manganese and silicon to enhance specific properties.The steel exhibits moderate strength, its tensile strength typically falling in the range of 480 to 630 megapascals (MPa), depending on factors such as heat treatment, alloying elements and dimension.Due to the carbon content, C35/C35E steel has limited weldability. It is recommended that the material be heated before welding.Used for applications requiring moderate strength and toughness, including automotive components, axles and bolts and screws.
