High-carbon steel widely used in the manufacture of various types of springs, including coil springs, flat springs and leaf springs. Its high carbon content allows it to be heat treated to achieve specific hardness levels, ensuring optimum spring performance. However, at temperatures above 150°C it loses its elastic properties. Mainly used for springs with medium stresses.
